Help with active ragdolls, physical animation for my game

Hello, I am an aspiring game developer with a little experience making mobile-esk games and I am planning a medieval fantasy RPG but i want my player and AI characters to react to being hit with various medieval weaponry, kind of like in GTA IV/5, where their arm will clutch their various limbs after being hit and will stumble to the ground when the die dynamically, based on where they were injured. I can’t find a single person on the internet who has talked about this and I am wondering what you guys can come up with. This has been a problem I’ve been roadblocked by for almost 4 years xD I would appreciate the help y’all :))

Active ragdolls are a blend of ragdoll physics and traditional animations. Unlike passive ragdolls, which are purely physics-based and react to external forces, active ragdolls incorporate AI or character controllers to influence their movement and reactions :smile: I also really like games like this
