Help, tried moving project folder and now half my level won't load!

Yesterday, my disk was running out of space while working on a level and I couldn’t save some of it so i tried moving my Unreal Project folder to my D:\ drive. I reopened my project there but the level I was working on somehow didn’t transfer so I relocated it back to my C drive.

While I was retransferring it, Unreal somehow made a duplicate of my level in the C drive so I just clicked “Replace duplicate files” on the popup I got which was probably a mistake cause when I opened up my level, some assets have gone missing and I can’t reload some of them

My foliage won’t show up. Instead, all I’m getting is this error in my Outliner, “InstancedFoliageActor 9_8_-8 (Unloaded)”. I tried looking up how to fix this and one of the options is to drag said unloaded actor into the World Partition, click “Load Selected Region” and it would work again. I tried that but it wouldn’t let me drag it in.

Another one said to right click the unloaded actor and select Pin but the pin option is unclickable for me.

Does anyone know how to recover lost files? I worked hard on this and I don’t want to lose my progress!

An error I got after opening my project

What my project looked like before

What it looked like after

My unloaded actor

This isn’t going to help you currently, but it will in the future and help anyone else:

BACK UP YOUR PROJECT

And the simplest way to do that is with the ZIP function under the FILE menu (You can NOT be in BLUEPRINT or ANIMATION MODE view to see this):

Unreal is “free”, but that doesn’t mean that it’s inexpensive. You’ll need TONS of data, both RAM and ROM, as well as disk space.

If anyone only has one copy of their program, you WILL run into an issue.

Good luck.

I hope someone has an elegant solution to this.

Does anyone at least know how to fix this or find a way to recover files?

Another thing of note, The drive my project is on has run out of space. Is that the reason why some of my foliage won’t load?
