Help to create project without any shaders please

I’ve sent to approve three times project with audio assets only (music inside) to marketplace and all three times the approving team has rejected with notice about “shaders preparing” how can I create projects without any shaders? I’ve already created all these three times projects using “Blank” template and “No Starter Content” but all times have a rejected with notice about “Shader Preparing” which should not be present in audio assets as they told me.

Any help please?

Hi WAV_Maniacs,

Even a blank project with just sound files could still include engine shaders that might need compiling.

Was the marketplace reviewer not able to offer any guidance the second and third time you submitted?

If they are unable to explain how to set up the project, I’d ask them to consult their peers/lead for more information.

Let us know if you learn anything about this requirement!

Thanks for reply!

I have the standard answers from reviewers like this

" Unfortunately, we review thousands of cases, so it is not our first time opening the program. In cases like this we suggest you check out our forum, the community is very helpful and usually very quick to respond. We cannot continue with the review process until the shaders are removed."

And two attached files (see screenshots please)

I’ve no Idea how to resolve this issue, maybe I need to avoid UE 4.10 for audio assets but I think it should have early version for best compatibility?

Thanks for the extra info.

They are correct in the fact that if they’ve opened up other projects the shaders will already be compiled. (But this is also per engine version, so if they haven’t opened a 4.10 project in a while a shader recompile could be triggered)

I’d ask the reviewer to create + open a 4.10 project first to be sure any engine shaders have been compiled before opening your project.

I’m having trouble imagining any reason why a project with just audio files in the content folder would compile shaders. The only other thing I can think of is if there is a a project setting changed. (For example, if forward rendering was enabled or Mobile HDR turned off) But since you said you tried with a newly created project I’m doubtful this is the case.

To be 100% sure you can compare your projects Config/DefaultEngine.ini to a DefaultEngine.ini of a newly created project.

Using an early version of UE is best for compatibility, but if you are unable to get past this roadblock with the reviewer I think submitting a 4.16 or 4.18 version of your assets could be worth a try.

Your answers for me (as a musician) are incredibly useful, I did not know such details before. I will try to use 4.16 or 4.18 version.

Thank you very much!
