I’ve noticed that my background looks great, but the actual subject is blurry and incomplete. I’m a beginner at this and trying to learn how to get the settings correct. I tried other software, as well, with similar results, though with the other software the backgrounds also looked not great. I have 122 images and the subject is not blurry in any of them. I have close ups of the face, but I don’t have close ups of the arms and hands. Is that why the arms/hands are the worst part? To me it seems the hands and arms are quite clear in the pictures, but I’m still figuring out how this all works. I appreciate any tips, tricks, or suggestions.
Hi,
Your issue is unlikely to be the sharpness of your photos, it is most likely misalignment. The background is sharp because it does not move at all. The subject is blurry because it’s impossible for her to stay perfectly still whilst you are taking all of the photos, The arms and the hands are probably the worst parts because they move the most. Even wind on the clothing will make it hard for the software to make a good alignment. The standard method for full body scans is to use a booth, with a lot of cameras taking the photos simultaneously, to avoid this movement, but people have managed to get usable results on a budget. You can try to steady the model using supports or guides, then remove from the mesh later. Also it can be good to speed up the capture by using 4k video.
