Help solve the problem, after updating c unreal engine 5.4.3 to unreal engine 5.4.4 began to strongly freeze, and when running even a test project GAMES / FirstPerson and when running it in a new window (game in the editor) very hangs , the problem helps to solve by changing directx 12 to directx11 .
How to fix the problem with freezing on directx 12 ?
Or do a rollback to unreal engine 5.4.3 ?
Hey @djnikolya!
I’ve been seeing issues with this here and there, most people solved it by ensuring that their graphics cards were updated, as well as getting the most recent version of DirectX! Make sure that you are going directly to the Microsoft website in order to update your DirectX, as well.
Hope that helps!
I have a version of unreal engine 5.4.3 worked fine, and on directx 12 too, and updated, and the video card driver even rolled back, but nothing helped, most likely all of this is some kind of bug engine.
It is far more serious.
I had a project running (almost) fine in 5.4.3 but after update to 5.4.4, Unreal crashes. Even a previous version migrated from 5.3.2 to 5.4.4 has exactly the same problem. It depends on the level and probably the size of the level, the number of assets, nanite/no nanite, PCG’s (both by volume and by spline) …
System is completely up-to-date in drivers and OS.
The problem was solved by reinstalling Windows, everything works fine, apparently some update was crooked, now I always make a backup copy of the entire Windows system before any update.
