Help! Input mapping stops working after setting a new camera target with blend

I am a beginner and need help.

I am trying to change camera when interacting with an object and change input mapping system.

But all the input controlls stop working after changing camera, I cant even get it to output a string.

A few common causes for “all input dies after switching camera”, in the order I’d check them:

  1. Where the input events live. Enhanced Input events only fire in an actor that receives input — normally the possessed Pawn or the PlayerController. If the new mapping’s events are inside the camera actor or the interactable object, call Enable Input on that actor (Player Controller = Get Player Controller 0).
  2. Set View Target with Blend doesn’t change possession — it only changes what you see, so your pawn’s input should keep working. If it stops, something else is removing it.
  3. Mapping context swap. Get the Enhanced Input Local Player Subsystem from the Player Controller and call Add Mapping Context with a valid context and a higher priority (or remove the old one first). If you clear all mappings and the Add node silently fails on an invalid reference, you end up with zero contexts.
  4. Input mode. If a widget opens during the interaction, make sure you’re not left in Set Input Mode UI Only — switch back to Game Only / Game and UI.
  5. Debug: type showdebug enhancedinput in the console during play — it shows active mapping contexts and which actions fire, which usually reveals the problem immediately.
