[HELP] Heightmap Import Low FPS In Editor

Hello guys, i would like to know if there is some sort of configuration i do have to do to have high fps in my imported heightmap… im using kite demo, as the main material of the landscape, but, when i import the map (4096x4096) to it, i got frame rate like 20fps only at the map and some material from kite demo… how they can render/load that size of map with good fps and i don’t

Config:

GTX 970 4GB
8GB RAM 2400
PROC I7 4790K 4.0

I’ve already tried, cull distance, but with out sucess, can you guys please share some information about it? i would like to create a “round mesh” and the engine just draw what is inside of it, and outside of it create a fog to blur the players camera…

thanks for your time,
Peace

How is the FPS without the material applied to the heightmap?

120 fps, with material 15/20  is there any way to cull distance to the map?

I’m interested in knowing the answer to this problem too
Maybe your ram is low? 8gb is the recommended but for larger projects, more RAM is needed

I dont know how they made the material for the kite demo (still havent tested it out), but it could be that they use tessellation or parallax shading which isn’t so good for your performance -> the easiest way would be that you just create your own landscape materials, because the ones from the kite demo, are not directly for games

i did understand, i got that procedural nature pack too, using that material, the fps drops as using the kitedemo material, only 15/20fps, there is no way to cull distance render/draw the map? by sectors maybe… idk  (the procedural nature material has tesselation, so beautifull, thats why i bought it and want to use in the landscape)

this could be true, but ue4 dosnt go higher than 3,5gb

If that’s true, then why Epic Games recommend for larger projects to use more than 8gb RAM? 16gb ram would be cool they say

well idk, i’ve bought more ram, but still samething…

I have the exact same problem, my FPS dramticly drops to around 10-20 FPS which is insane. Simular specs ofcourse 8GB R
