I am using a Mac with version 13.6.7.
When I try to open the Epic Games launcher, I receive the following message:
Unreal Engine does not support running from case-sensitive file systems.
Please install the application on a drive formatted as case-insensitive.
I have contacted Epic who suggested these steps: Exit the Epic Games Launcher. Open Finder. Click on Go then Go to Folder… Type “~/Library/Caches/com.epicgames.EpicGamesLauncher” and press Enter. Drag the webcache folder to the Trash. Press control and click on Trash. Click on Empty Trash. Restart your device and relaunch the Epic Launcher.
which unfortunately did not work. The next suggestion was forum chats with no solution.
does anyone have an idea of how I can resolve this? thank you in advance
Hey there @DAMLTD! Welcome to the community! Sounds like your file system might be setup as Case Sensitive. This is rare, but is setup this way on some MacOS systems. Take a look at your disk utility, then see if it lists the drive format as (Case Sensitive) or not. Link below can assist getting there:

If it is case sensitive, our options fall to reformatting the drive (loses your data, not recommended), possibly adding a non-case sensitive partition (if that works), or using an external drive of another format. As always when doing any partition/drive format actions, back EVERYTHING up somewhere safe in case you make a data destroying mistake. I haven’t owned a Mac in some time, so keep me updated!
Not an answer to your problem but a real-life suggestion as an old-school programmer.
I have never understood why a file system or a command language of an OS, requires case sensitivity. the OS I used to work in was not case sensitive, and it makes life for a user so much easier. So I agree with the previous commenter to use a case-insensitive setup - for ALL your disks, if that is possible
