Hello,
I have made a game (Steidle_VR_enviro) in 4.26 and just migrated all the “content” into a blank 4.27 project (now called ‘Steidle_VR_enviro427’ - AKA enviro427 let’s say). I am seeing issues that may be regarding DDC and/or Config or something else entirely so I’m labeling two themes below:
----DDC
I noticed right away that my program window shows a new icon at the top: “DDC” right next to the green-blinking diploma hat (as show in the picture). I’ve read some on DDC and I don’t think I can find any big storage request its making (looked at …/appdata folder and file). When hovering my mouse over DDC it shows the number details you see in the photo. The folder explorer on my pc says the C drive has plenty of space.
----Config
My game in 4.27 is running real slow. I actually couldn’t even move my player character when I toggled ‘play’ to test it out. (!!!).
Important background: I know that when I built this in 4.26 I first made my game in a ThirdPerson template but then had to change it to VR. I followed this youtuber’s advice on how to do that: VR and FPS control switch (for development) Unreal - YouTube — it’s basically copying+pasting/replacing the ‘config’ files of one type of template/project to another.
Currently when I saw my editor couldn’t run my ‘…enviro427’ game I then made sure I had the right ‘config’ files from my old game/version ‘steidle_vr_enviro’ – that is, I copied them over to there in non-destructive way.
^Since doing that, I’ve tried opening ‘enviro427’ and now a huge mass of shaders is compiling and taking forever.
Any insights into what’s happening?
Thank you
