Help cannot get a result

Hi, 

I am having difficulties obtaining a result from RC.

  1. my laser scan mesh imported sideways how do i correct the forward left and up direction in Reality capture so that (+x = right, +y = up, +z = forward)?

2.) how do i auto align the point cloud with my mesh?

3.) how do i actually add control points (the same ones) to different images for alignment. When i try to do this, each time i click, it just increments the index on the control point and i end up with heaps of unrelated points.

4.) How do i change the untis from m to mm?

BTW i have read all of the help information i could find, searched the forums and have done lots of trial and error on these three issues but i am stuck, and it is blocking me from achieving the results i need with your software.

3.) You need to select the CP in 1Ds and then click on the image to place it. Make sure there are no steps in between because when you activate another window in between, then RC doesn’t consider it selected any more and will add a new CP at the end…

4.) I just looked forever and couldn’t find anything. I think you only define the units on import or export…

  1. You can place at least three ground control points with the coordinates that would define such coordinate system. Or you can rotate your model according to the ground plane via Reconstruction - Define ground plane.

  2. Can you please explain in more detail what you mean by that?

  3. In the installation folder, there is local.xml which has predefined coordinate system in mm. You can also define your own coordinate system in such xml file. When you select the Project coordinate system in the Workflow settings, there is an option to import the database. You can import this database and choose the created coordinate system.
