Need help with Weapon Position on Character. Bit new to Unreal Engine, and been using the AGLS project, and trying to get weapons to align and sit correctly in my custom character’s hand. I’ve changed weapon socket positions in all the skeletol meshes that came with AGLS, and no luck.
Which gets me really confused. So I scapped teh sockets Idea, and went to look for “Attach Component To Component” and then created custom sockets in my character’s skeletal mesh, and replaced the “Attach Component to Component” and still nothing…
It feels like the socket is attached to the spine or something else there, could you check that? If not, you should attach it to the hand bone and align the socket then see if it fixes it or not.
Hey thanks for the reply legend! Fortunately, after a total of 2 weeks, I’ve found it for the pistol and it’s FIXED! But now for the rifle, I’m having the same problem And still trying to find it. But solution is below for others in the same boat.
SOLUTION:
Went to the Main Character’s BP (Not the child’s BP)
Searched for “AttachPistol” clicked into “BPI_Action_CorrectAttachPistolToHand” and found the “Attach To Component” node, copy/pasted it to my child’s BP, as my child’s BP, had the BluePrint category, but no nodes
Changed the “Parent” to my character’s mesh and changed the socket to my custom socket, compiled, and Voila!
Now have the same issue with the rifle, and now, so trying to find another needle in a haystack. But feeling like it could be more complex since, I’m pretty sure AGLS uses Two Hand IK which I’m not entirely sure how it’s set up But thanks heaps for your help @erportaka45
