Hey everyone,
I’m just on here saying hello and putting myself out there. I’m currently in school learning some game development and programming so I can build the skills necessary to start designing my own games and, hopefully, one day open a game studio.
Making video games has been a passion of mine my whole life, but life events have tossed me every which way, making it hard to follow my dream. Now, I’m in a good, stable job where I have time to start learning the tools I need.
If anyone has some suggested reading or online courses to help new game developers/designers, please feel free to send them my way. Right now, my work schedule is busy so I am filling my free time with online school so I at least have a degree to show for it in the end, but I have dabbled in some of the youtube videos and other online courses.
My current goal would be to learn how to create and publish mobile games so I have some potential income that would allow me to quit my current job and work full time on PC/console games. If anyone has any feedback or resources that would help me achieve that goal, please feel free to share. I am very open to thoughts, ideas, and opinions.
