Hello, in which version of the engine is more promising to work for a shooter?

I would suggest a newer version for the simple fact epic games is constantly updating UE4 to add new features, get more performance, and make it easier to work with. That being said, it really doesn’t matter. Look at Unreal Tournament 3. That was made in UE3, but is still a good shooter. Now there’s Unreal Tournament made in UE4. The game came out a while ago, so it’s obviously not using 4.18. Yes, there are bugs in newer versions, but that is always going to happen. If you want to create a shooter game and are looking for the best version of the engine to work in (and by best, I mean the one which doesn’t have as many bugs associated with newer features) look at the most recent stable build (currently 4.18), and get the one released just before that (the second most recent stable build, so 4.17.2). I’m guessing you haven’t been using UE4 for a while, so you might have some questions as to how to start. On that topic, the best tutorials I’ve found are the live training sessions by epic games, and the tutorials by Virtus.

here’s the start of his “getting started with UE4”, which I highly recommend if you’ve never used it before.

here’s the start of his “creating an FPS”

here’s epic games’ unreal engine channel which has a lot of great information

Thank you!
