I have a helicopter spawner on my island. It’s a placed very high mountain top on the map BUT it doesn’t fly up only down. Its well within my level bounds but I’m wondering if there is some height limitation on it? It’s like something is pushing it towards the ground. It works fine if I put it in an empty map spawning from the grid. Anyone have any ideas???
Yeah there is a height limit dependant on distance from the ground, Is your mountain a landscape component or built from mountain props ?
Yeah, I realized that after making this post. I was able to fly up to a certain height on my map until I hit the invisible ceiling. It is generated from a landscape. Any issues with just taking everything and pushing it down in Z? Is there any lower limits that you know of?
Hello Bryce,
I did a test and found the maximum height that a helicopter (and Biplane) can fly to be ~22,000
Also, the lowest I can go before dying (“Kill-Z”) is -9,000.
So, moving your landscape down might be able to give you a bit more headroom.
As of 26.10 I’m not aware of any way to change the max flyable height or Kill-Z threshold.
Hmmmmm… that’s a bummer. They should allow devs to set this themselves.
Those vehicles may have been made with the assumption that they’d only be used in a Battle-Royale context.
You can set Kill-Z in Unreal Engine, so keep an eye out for it in the Window → World Settings tab in UEFN.
Will do! Thanks!
