Heinous UE4 > UE5 compiling times?

Hi,
First post.

I’m doing Unreal Sensei’s 5 hr UE5 beginner tutorial. I got to the part where you open the Medieval Village asset and convert it to UE5. I have a pretty fast machine but I’m 11 hours in and it’s still compiling shaders. It compiled about 5,000 shaders at the 45% mark. Now it’s at 70% and compiling thousands more.

Is this to be expected or have things gone terribly off the rails? If I reboot and/or restart will it just start the whole crazy parade over again?

Thanks!

It’s OK. Just wait.
On mine 8 core/16 threads system it takes VERY long time to start for first time.
If you reboot/restart it will continue from point of interruption.
