I am trying to use height maps from terrain.party, (it’s a website,) and when i put them into unreal on a terrain object, the hills are all showing up way higher than they should be. I know it is not the height map itself, because i tried to apply it in blender, and got an accurate result, so it has to be Unreal.
Hey Quigong,
maybe you messed up something with the Import Settings of your Texture.
If not, you could compress the Values of your texture in the Material.
Mapping the Values [0 to 1] to [0.2 to 0.8] maybe?
I know it’s a little hacky but with a formular like this you can adjust your values do your likings. [0.3 to 0.9] or whatever.
turns out my problem was that i was importing the height map wrong. i was using the height map button in the landscape molding tab, not importing it at the start.
