Heavy Search Result changes in Fortnite/Discovery lately

Searching for something recently has changed as said in the screen shot

As far as I can tell, The first result is now a result that is similar in keywords, but not exact, so if you search something like one of my maps Dirt Bike Sand Pit, you don’t get that map because it 1. has no players and 2. pit is in the name but its worse than that really for this example

These results for something with those exact names is insane when it comes to the consumer themselves trying to just find something by its exact name?

Top played maps are being shown rather than the exact search result? Or what i think is also pretty bad is something similar that is kind of close is not remotely the result if attached to a seeminly owned keyword or it seems even key words?

This is almost entirely just throwing the consumer off what they were looking for. Why?

I don’t have any examples other than my own cause this specifically targets those who have no players on a map to be shown correctly cause if you do have a player you are in the results it seems (?maybe) which is where I see where this is going but ultimately it just hurts the consumer just trying to find a map?

Some more examples of things I have made just being gone from results now, but honestly the more I look the worse it gets for me unfortunately.

OBVIOUSLY I am going to have to change my maps names if this doesn’t change but is this gonna be fixed or is this the new way of things?

Is search not for searching anymore?

Im shocked at this and it also feels like promote already top creators.

I dont wanna rant on about it but everything in the ecosystem is about making top creators more popular.

This just supports that assumption more

Yep I try to ignore it usually but ya this is getting wacky to say the least I just noticed my analytics all kinds of bad lately and now and I am now seeing why :smiling_face_with_tear:

Weekends use to be good for my kind of “mini game” type maps because I could hone in on a niche but that niche ideology is dead with these kinds of extreme changes, genuinely a killer

I want to also reiterate that this is a new change (3 weeks ago max) There have been similar changes like this but nothing this extreme

Some more examples, You literally cannot find your results unless you scroll now to below all who have plays who are even remotely related to a keyword in your name,

and you can see the effects it is having in most people’s discovery opportunities now, a decent comparison to what it was is currently fn gg, it would just give you results that actually match your search..

FNCreate social media (not sure if this is remotely credible anymore) said it was fixed it on the 30th but I noticed this was an issue still around April 6th.. So did they revert it at all just for a few days?

Update:

Mark said it would be fixed!

Update:

And it is fixed! hurray

Just a fair warning to others on this. This still changed drastically. If you were at all trying to take advantage of keywords you should really search your maps and see where you are being placed now because it has changed quite dramatically and we haven’t got much communication as far as what changed.

They merely walked by the exact phrases giving you more popular maps, so now you got vaguely related maps shown with just a single keyword similar or in some cases no keywords similar at all.

Hopefully they will say something at Unrealfest but weather or not they publicize those talks, who knows.

For example of the term “Dirt Bike Sand Pit” I am getting exact and very close until basically not remotely related at all, so in my case I would probably be best dropping Pit from my maps name for example as it’s basically owned now.

And just a hunch but its probably a really bad idea now to have more than 5 words in your maps name unless of course your map is getting players which is basically the elitist mark of this ecosystem becoming very very obvious, they really support popular creators over others now, obviously.
