Hello. I wear glasses and (being the video gaming recluse that I am) wear headphones for prolonged periods of time. My headphones go over the ear (I have a Superlux HD-681 EVO) and I have average sized glasses frames. I have tried propping the arms of my glasses above the ear cup, but the angle of the lenses screws up my vision. I was wondering if there was any way to make it more comfortable. I don’t feel like getting new headphones considering I just bought my current pair a month or two ago. Which material ear pads are the best? Is there a thingy that I can stick on my headphones to fix this? This problem is quite common so i am surprised that I didn’t find a great solution. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
another big head i suppose, my solution was to break the headphones on the side and duct tape the hell out of it together, seriously.
Big soft velour headphone pads seem to cause the least discomfort for me as far as headphones go. I’d say the best option would be to use earbuds, they should completely eliminate the conflict with wearing glasses. Although you could always try to DIY some slots into the foam/pad where your glasses should go, but the rest of the pad should be firm enough not to just get crumpled entirely next to the slots.
Get glasses with thin frame, it hurts less. Or contact lenses.
And try to play on nvidia 3d vision: double glasses plus headphones.
But there is hope if you are shortsighted I think you can play VR without glasses.
The size of the headphones doesn’t seem to be the problem. I guess all of the pressure from the headphones is being concentrated on my head under the glasses. I bet they can still be broken in a bit.
Okay. Luckily my headphones came with a pair of velour pads as well as leathery ones.
Gah! The velour pads are too soft and my ear touches the back of the cup.
If I were to recommend anything, it would be to get contact lenses. They also come in handy for VR
get yourself some earbuds
Agreed, sadly VR has those lenses that make objects appear far. So one still needs glasses/contact lenses to use VR.
Maybe some future models will have replaceable lenses.

Have you tired bone conduction headphones?
I have just tested one of these this weekend, and the sensation is surprisingly good. It’s like having the music actually in your head already without obstructing your hearing. Feels really cool I am actually thinking of them as sports headphones, but still worth a try if others are not working for you. And yes, I wear glasses too, but these are rather light on the area where the glasses sit.

I wear glasses and I can have my Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250ohm headphones on literally all day without discomfort, and they use really thick velour pads. I know you tried the velour pads before, but it may be worth another shot, it might just be different based on what model headphones you have. If you can find the ones I have in a store to try out in person just to see how it feels, I would recommend it.
My opinion would be to give either the glasses or headphones a bit of a break. If you wear either for at least 2 hours straight then take a 25 minute break.
You could always get a set of these and put prescription lenses in them
Either get earphones or contact lens.
DIY (do it yourself) in two steps
1.cut glasses part that goes behind your ear
2.stick glasses with duck tape to headphones
or just buy yourself a nice pair of contact lenses :)))
rubber trim
Contact lenses! or use a rubber trim (attach it to frame)…will be cool!!
I agree with getting contact lenses! It is not the headphones!
I would suggest you might get a wireless bluetooth earbud such as Jaybird X2. The sound quality is great and you’ll not be intimidated and feel much comfortable than using usual headphones. I just found this idea when I read it at https://www.headphonesunboxed.com/top-10-earbuds/.
