Head offset when imported to maya

Why does the head look offset?

Importing metahuman from Quixel bridge (standalone) to Maya (2018). This is the result. Is it supposed to look like this?

Hey there @VitaminJay! Does this issue apply to all metahumans you can import?

@SupportiveEntity The issue does apply to other MetaHumans such as “Mike”. However, during my testing, I get a new set of errors when I import.

“Mike” produced the same floating head issue as above. “Mike” is a custom metahuman made using only the meta human cloud site.

“Cooper A” is the default Cooper preset, but I removed his hair so that he would show up in my custom section: “My MetaHuman UE5.” I did this to see if my custom metahumans that was causing the issue. “Cooper A” seems to have been imported to Maya (2018) correctly.

“Cooper B” is the a duplicate of “A”, but I set it to use the fat body. As you can see the Fat body did not import over, but the head took on the fat body seem and attributes.

For this post I used Maya (2022). The head offset error with “Mike” is not happening, (plus his body textures are importing over). So I guess the “fix” for my original issue is to use Maya (2022) as my import version.

The issues with “Cooper B” still remain.

  • The issue with “Cooper B” is that the fat body is not importing over to Maya (2022), but the head is correctly taking on the fat body proportions.

Interesting! It’s odd that the different versions are having varying levels of offset. You should be able to manually adjust the model, however I’m going to write up a report on this.
