Having your character lean when running and turning?

I’m trying to get a high level understanding as to the best way to have my character lean into a turn. Right now he runs, and when you move the game-pad/arrow keys he stands straight and moves in that new direction. I would like a more natural feel by allowing for a lean in the direction you’re controlling him. Would the best solution be to use a Blend Space with custom running animation that has a lean, or is there another way to do it?
