Hey people, I’ve been having problems with layering animations in Animation Blueprint, basically branch filter and blend masks don’t work and the additive animation doesn’t do anything, only the base one plays.
My current set up: I have 2 animations, a lower body walk and an upper body holding straps from a book attached to the character’s back, the goal is to have everything playing together, the two character animations plus the book’s animation. However, I don’t seem to get the character counterpart to work (it works perfectly in Blender).
this is my set up currently in the animation blueprint (you can depth=20 on Branch filter, on 500 the mesh is still deformed badly, at 1000 it is displayed correctly, but still with no blending)

I’ve tried already: swapping the base and additive animations (upper body base and walking addtive) and I get the same problem with branch filter and blend mask but with the upper body only playing; baking all bones vs baking only the bones that are animated (doesn’t change anything); using other animation blending nodes (the mesh one breaks the walking animation and apply additive gives too much swing to the hands and causes it to misalign with the straps)
sorry for the long post, but I’ve already spent hours and hours trying to solve this so tried I a lot of things
