Having animation retargeting affect bone position

I am trying to do animation retargeting for FPS arms in UE5.3. I have the arms themselves working and retargeting the animations. The problem is for my game the character also has an extra set of bones for its whipRig.


Both the source and target rigs have the exact same WhipRig bones, but I cant get the retargeting to work on single bones that have their base separate from the root.

I have been trying to get it to work by setting up chains but those only affect the rotations of the bones and not the location.
