Simple question: Have anyone used the student version to make models and realese a absolute free game?
I know this is a question to the Autodesk staff, but Im wondering if anyone of you have done this?
I plan to use my project for personal use and absolute no commersial usage of the content.
Do you think its ok to use the student version then?
No!!!

You can always write to AutoDesk and see if this policy has changed, but I doubt it. As a buyer, I think AutoDesk should watermark student versions (FBX export etc), to take the temptation away which is considerable, because a lot of ex-students continue to use student-versions for commercial work or graduate to using full-on cracked versions to escape the hefty price tag, which is unmanageable for most Indies never mind ex-students.
You can always fall back on Maya LT which is lighter on budget, but its partially crippled. So I say try and run with Blender or Modo instead if at all possible.
BTW: Fix the title to make the question clearer i.e. specify the product: Max or Maya etc…
.
Yes they should. How else could they know that someone is
using the student license or not? I was using
MayaLT, so I think I will continue with that as I
do prefer the Autodesk workflow above all other
softwares.
