^ would you guys say that Job really needs a computer science degree? or a CIS degree would do?
This job is as you can see a business sector Job that does not seem to rely on mathematics of computer science.
Application programming experience with C#, VB, JAVA, PHP, XML, ASP and .NET.
Strong SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 Database development skills.
Work experience with other relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience with Android, Blackberry or other Mobile development.
Experience in Agile development.
I am keeping my fingers crossed because in my CIS course we did VB and ASP and .NET etc even some JAVA.
So hoping one of you guys confirm that a job like that does not require the complexity of computer science degrees because honestly my IT degree while it had these kind of programming it had no maths.
If you think you have the skills they want, then go ahead and make an application. Your degree might be slightly different to the one they advertise for, but I don’t think this would make a huge difference to their hiring practices.
