Has Anyone Used the New Motion Matching stuff in UE5.1 or 5.2?

So I noticed they added some new motion matching features in their road map. Here

But I can’t seem to find any documentation on it. I just find Animation Warping, Motion Warping, and Motion Trajectory plugins. But no Documentation on how to get to it or even use it.

Has anyone here found it or have documentation on how to use it? I know it takes a lot of motion capture to get good results, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Please help!

Here is a plugin that does it. Here
But trying to find out how to do natively in UE5

It can be done. Just HOW?

Haven’t used the new stuff but you can do what you see on video with the “old stuff” too with blendspaces. the Advanced Locomotion System plugin does that very well. You can easily calculate any vector you want to use with a blendspace animation

Here’s some more info on 5.1 and 5.2 motion matching, but I’m actually looking for 5.3 info as these plugins change a lot between engine versions.

About a quarter the way down this link is some documentation on UE5 native motion matching.

Depending on the browser you’re using, if you don’t have auto translate, these will need to be translated. (After going to the link, you might need to refresh the page to get the auto translate to popup.)

This one has several motion matching links within it.

Having a hard time finding resources for Motion Matching in 5.3, the tutorial on Unreal’s doc misses a lot of information, like a common issue/troubleshoot section

It’s difficult to find anything on 5.3. The docs haven’t changed much. I’ve been working with 5.4 and waiting for the sample to help explain the actual stuff of interest.

If you haven’t watched the 5.4 Feature Overview, it has some good stuff in it.
