I have scoured over 3 pages of Google solutions and NOTHING has helped. I have emailed EpicGames support THREE days ago and no responses at all. Any help would be appreciated.
I have the same problem. 
I used to be able to run unreal engine at work with no problem but now i cant get past the same update screen you mentioned.If they dont fix this soon i might have to switch to Unity instead.
