Has anyone had any experience using Testflight?

I’m working on an iOS conversion of a game I’ve made. I’m looking into using Testflight to make a build for beta testing. I wondered if anyone here has had experience doing this.

I’ve got my Apple developer sub and have previously made some builds (for an older game) by just getting the target UID numbers from my testers and building with my provisioning certificates, but this is a bit clunky. As far as I understand it you:

1 - make your build and upload it to iTunes connect
2 - you can then define your ‘internal’ testers who can use testflight to install right away.
3 - then if you want more than 25 testers you need to submit the app to apple for beta approval.

Has anyone done this (beta approval)? Am I right in thinking it doesn’t cost anything to get this approval - or, I should say, it’s covered by your Apple dev sub?
How long did it take? My game is very simple/static - it’s a puzzle type game - and my stripped down iOS version is a blueprint only build right now - i’ve stripped out any custom plugins or code I was using.

Thanks for any input!

Dan

Hey Dannington,

**Am I right in thinking it doesn’t cost anything to get this approval **
If you have already paid $99 for your Apple Dev Sub, then it wont cost you any more.

How long did it take?
I have uploaded a few app to TestFlight for Internal Users to test. As far as I know, After you make a Shipping Build with a Distribution Certificate, upload to TestFlight, the approval for Beta Testing or Internal User Testing will take less than 30 mins. You will get the build approved if there are no problems with the build.
