I have a doubt about the pc I’m going to buy, 100% focused on optimising the UE5 for programming videogames.
After several weeks of searching and collecting information, I have an idea of a pc like this:(Within my budget of 1400€)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming X AX(180€)
CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X (400€)
CPU Cooler: ThermalRight Phantom Spirit 120SE (40€)
RAM: 64(2x32)GB DDR5 6000mhz (230€)
SSD: Crucial P3 Plus 2TB - SSD NVMe PCIe 4.0 (125€)
GPU: RTX 3060 12gb (330€) / RTX 4060ti 8gb (450€) / RTX 4060 ti 16gb (500€)
I don’t know which GPU to choose between the three options.
On the one hand there is the 3060 which is the most economical and has 12gb of Vram which is not bad, the downside is that it has old chip and maybe the series 3 is old in a few years, but no matter which graphics card I choose I’m sure that in a few years I will have to change it again.
Then there is the VS between the 4060ti 8gb and 16gb the price is only +50€, but I’ve been watching reviews and benchmarks and the community is quite dissatisfied by the 4060 ti 16gb because they focus on gaming and for play games there is no difference between them because they are identical, only changes the Vram.
So my question is: To optimize the performance of UE5 those 8gb of Vram are going to be noticed? is it worth paying this 50€ more to have 8gb of extra vram? I think so, but I really don’t know if UE5 would use those 16gb of Vram.
And lastly:
With the power supply I don’t know what to buy, what I have seen on the internet is that it has to be of quality so I was thinking of buying 80+ gold or platinium, but the voltage I don’t know how much to buy, I don’t know if now with 850W will be fine or I need 1000W, also thinking if in the future I’ll upgrade to a 4090.
Any help with the other components is welcome.
Thanks
