Hardware compatibility UI4

Good morning to you all,
My name is , I am writing for some information about the hardware compatibility UI4.

I have been your customer for 4 months, by paying the registration of € 19 per month to use the versions of UI4 (4.0.2). Unfortunately I had to stop my subscription because the new versions of UI4 are not compatible with my mac and with the graphics card I’m using.

I am a game developer and would like to re-do the registration to the new versions of UI4 using all new graphics engine UI4.

In the past I was told by one of your Naturally, there to use the new versions that I had to buy one of the following graphics cards:

AMD Radeon HD 6870 series
card

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470

These graphics cards are also recommended in the site UI4.

I tried searching the net one of these graphics cards, but I could not find anything … really depressing and disappointing.

I am a user of a Mac Pro 8-core
OS: osx 10.9.4

Lately I’ve been using version 4.0.1, but I need to go to the new versions, because there are major changes and major uses.

I ask you to help me solve my problem, I could use some advice on where I can buy a graphics card compatible with my mac or report me to the links to make a purchase.

In addition to the 2 cards that you suggested, there are other models compatible with my mac?

I would like to make the new monthly subscription of € 19, if I could solve my problem would become part of your staff. I would be truly honored.

I ask you not to neglect my question, I just ask a little help.

Hello!

( NOTE: I am not an Epic-developer, and I do not claim to be one. I try to help you as a private person)

Both of the cards featured as “compatible” are extremely old, hence your trouble finding information about them.
I am not too sure about MAC-compatability, as generally mac is not upgraded (for obvious reasons).
You may want to look into (from AMD side) R9-series, find your price range (they vary from 200$-700$, + extreme “R9 295x2” and check compatability issues, and (hopefully) make a purchase. If MAC is not compatible with AMD ´cards, you may want to have someone who knows about them inform you.

Hope this helps, -DoctorPC

Thank you so much aid, I would be lucky to know some person who has my same platform to find solution to this compatibility problem, I’m really sad because I do not know how to do …

I’ll try to follow your advice, I might even install windows under boot camp and see what happens … I already was using udk 3 under boot camp, but nothing to do with UI4 for this reason I want to go stay with EU4.

I’m Italian and Italian in the afaccenda is sad, there are few competent people on your industry, you have to do it all alone: (

kindly if you know any staff person who can help me or give me more information, I’d stay happy.

I wish you the best in the world

I did some research, and found an article

that claims it could be compatible with your system (and hopefully is).

World needs more italian games, they usually have their own “attitude” in the way they approach things :3

Getting in touch with developers may be a bit tricky, but I have heard they are fairly active & responsive on their twitter account, so asking there could be a quite a good idea :). For more indepth answers, head to Forums.

Could you let us know what graphics card do you currently have in your Mac Pro? Thanks.

I’m really glad your help :))))))

I currently use an NVIDIA Quadro 4000 2048 MB which unfortunately does not run in later versions of UI4

thank you very much

Have you tried UE 4.2? We’ve added support for most OpenGL 3.3 cards, so I’d expect it to work. Could you describe the problems you have with the editor? Thanks!

As a Mac Pro user, what you are looking for is a Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Mac Edition.
You won’t need to hack anything in your machine config to have one of these running, best option.

When I launch UI4 version 4.2.1 to create a new project, the program does not open, looking out monitoring activities of my mac appears to be open but not working

these are the specs of my graphics card

I apologize for the inconvenience

modell Chipset: NVIDIA Quadro 4000
Tipo: GPU
Bus: PCIe
Slot: Slot-2
Larghezza Lane PCIe: x16
VRAM (totale): 2048 MB
Fornitore: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Ok ,sorry

thank you very much for your help, I hope to solve the problem by buying the card proposal.

I want so much to be able to use UI4 with new versions

I apologize if I created waste of time.

respect to your work.

if I had problems, I can contact you?

Some things to try:

  1. Go to your ~/Library/Preferences folder and delete Unreal Enigine folder in there. This should reset all settings.
  2. Go to ~/Library/Logs and look for editor logs in Unreal Engine folder in there. They may contain some helpful info.
  3. Use Activity Monitor’s Sample Process option to generate a report that should tell us what the editor is doing after launch.

Ok I try

hello, I cancelalto the folder that you reported to me and I copied the log file required

Sure, I’m always around

According to the log it launched OK, then you created a new project, so the editor restarted. Did it load the project you created? If it did not, the Sample Process from Activity Monitor for the UE4Editor process would tell me more.
