Hey everyone!
The music video for my track “Hardcounter” is finally released!
It was an intense ride to make the video, but it was worth it.
The quality on Youtube is this time better, since it tweaked my workflow a bit to accomodate for the negative effects of youtube compression. Please watch in 4K.
Naturally I wasn’t spared of Unreal’s shenannigans, when it comes to the sequencer and made me seriously consider banging my head against a wall…
.
Enjoy!

Hello again @Eizencursed !
Another amazing release! The flow of the music with the video is so smooth. When the drop hit, I was so surprised to see the scene turn into a full fight! The aesthetic of the lotus scythe is very fun, especially in the way you have our protagonist propel themselves! All around a good release and something I’ll certainly be listening to often for my sci-fi ttrpg.
Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
I actually had to split the video in two parts (two seperate sequences and levels), because it drained so much performance and I often ran out of VRam. Even the rendering on the second part always crashed the engine, when it finished. And I have an 8GB GFX card…
I always try to make the videos as dynamic as possible and tailor it to the music as closely as possible. Sometimes I have to cut out cool parts/change them, because they would hinder/obstruct the flow of the music. This is a no go and even if it means even more work for me
.
Let’s see, what my little mind comes up with next. I think I have a track in mind, I made just a little while ago. It will actually go more into the sci-fi route, so you might like it

Hi @Eizencursed There were so many great moments in your video, my favorite was the shot of your character’s feet walking in perfect rhythm with the music. It felt so intentional, one of those small choices that really elevates the whole piece. The video really reminded me of the golden age of music videos, when artists and directors were not afraid to push boundaries and experiment with big, creative ideas. Nicely done!

@CtrlZWizard Thanks for the kind reply
. I don’t think I can even compare in the slightest with the golden age of music videos, but I appreciate it
. There are so many areas I want to improve, but I try to up my game with each new piece. I really like to experiment with the music, the videos and other stuff. Even “happy accidents” I keep in the video, since they sometimes turn out to be much better, what I intentionally thought of. Right now I’m modeling the next batch of characters/actors for the next video and I can barely keep up with my own creative thoughts. I always have to write them down and even speak on my phone as audio logs.
Anyway, again thanks for the kind words. I treasure every comment, since it means, I actually made the day for others a little bit more interesting. Especially considering that I am very self critical and sometimes need to release something or else I would never finish something
