Hard shadows after Build Lighting

Hello,
I have direction light, setted to be “Stationary”

Direction Light Screen

I did the light baking: Build → Build Lighting Only
And I got very hard shadows:

Shadows Screens

And There are some places where shadows are ok.
For example this house (is Static too):

Example

Here are my World Settings:

What have I missed or done wrong ?
I will be grateful for any advice.

Do you have a skylight?

I don’t have it.
Can it soften the shadows when building ?

Should I build lighting again after adding skylight ?

Add a skylight, and set it to static also, then build light. It will stop those drastic shadows

Thanks.

I added skylight.

This fixed some buildings.
This fixed foliage. (But only if I put SkyLight in “Stationary”)
(I think I won’t be able to bake the light for foliage).
(If you know a way to bake light for foliage, let me know, I will be very glad).

But still some objects in the scene are looking weird.

For Example this "Crane"

And if I put this “Crane” in Stationary and rebuild the light

It Looks good

Could there be a problem in mesh or in Lightmaps ?

Seems to be fixed by overriding the LightMapResolution.

But still problem with foliage (It seems to use dynamic lighting).

Maybe try dropping a reflection capture in the scene, near the digger.

Yes, you probably want to keep dynamic light on foliage, otherwise you’ll end up with a MASSIVE lightmap for the landscape.

No, sorry, I’m talking rubbish.

If it’s going to move, you basically can’t build light for it.

Well, you can, you’ll need to rummage around here to find posts about building light for meshes in blueprints. It is possible ( or you can make it look like you did ), but I can’t recall how to do it…
