HAPQ codec not working in UE 5.2?

Has anyone successfully got a video encoded with the HAPQ+Alpha codec to play in the UE 5.2 electra media player? Every time I bring in a file (doesn’t matter if it’s .mov or .avi), I get this message:
“Last issue: error=0 in Player: code 2, “Could not determine stream MIME type”
LogElectraPlayer: Most recent log messages:
0.000: Opening stream
0.000: Playback paused
0.000: Error: error=0 in Player: code 2, “Could not determine stream MIME type”
0.000: Stopped”

The HAP plugin is loaded in the plugins and the video file in question loads and plays just fine in my other external media players, including AE, so I presume it’s not the fiie?

Hey there @drylightn! From some reports it seems that certain codecs aren’t working with the electra media player with this build, I know the engine has the HAPQ support via the plugin, but the issue could lie with EMP there. The documentation doesn’t list the HAP types in the file types at all, though it has representation for the codec below.

It might be worth submitting a report in case it’s unintended:

@SupportiveEntity Thanks, I’ll try and log it as a bug and see what happens.

Thanks! In any case, if it’s not yet intended to be supported that may help it’s inclusion chances as well.

Just to note I have also had a very similar issue with Electra and UE5.3. I have reported this as a bug.

Use only the HAP Player plugin and remove Electra.
