I’ve added animations for crouching to a simple third-person template project in unreal 5.3. My crouching idle animation has the hands “on the ground”. I say “on the ground” because they actually appear to be floating just above the ground. I’ve tried to implement logic similar to the built in IK Foot Trace for the template project but it doesn’t seem to be working. You can find my screenshots below.
Has anyone done something like this before? Can anyone provide tutorials or insights as to what I might be doing wrong? I’ve looked into the foot trace function logic and it seems as if passing in the Hand IK should give the proper offset. I’m completely new to working with IK for anything besides animating so I’m a bit confused. Any suggestions appreciated, please let me know if there are any valuable resources I can use to learn more about this or provide a fix for the behavior I’m looking for!
