Hairworks Trojan Anti-Virus message?

Hello Everyone,

This is my 1st post usually I can find the answers to most of my questions on this form but, this one is kind of confusing for me. I tried to download the Nvidia Hairworks branch from Github, by cloning it to my desktop, but from some reason I got a failed error, so I tried to download the zip file and my anti virus found this Trojan (HEUR/QVM03.0.Malware.Gen). I’m a bit of a noob at Github and programming in general and I don’t know a whole lot about viruses, but from what I read about this particular virus is it will copy registry files and start slowing down your system or something like that. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or is it just me? Not sure if I’m just being paranoid about downloading Hairworks, is it safe to download?, or do a have this Trojan on my computer already and its trying to do something to the Hairworks files? I’d really appreciated it if someone could tell whats going on with this, Thanks.

I ran a full system virus scan and found more traces of that virus installed on my computer. Then I downloaded the hairworks zip file again form github and didn’t get any Trojan virus messages. Weird virus still don’t know to much about it, but I got Hairworks downloaded successfully after that virus was deleted. If anyone seems to run into that problem or if your computer seems to be slowing down for not apparent reason, I suggest running a full system virus scan and keep a record of any viruses you find so you can look them up to see what they are doing to your system. Some how that virus was trying to trick my anti-virus software in to thinking it was in the zip file I was downloading, at least that what it looks like to me, still a noob in that area.

Wait never mind that Virus file still seems to exist in that zip file, I just scanned the zip is this a false positive or something? serious really don’t know how to judge this file. If someone could tell me whats going on with this. I really don’t know much about viruses and still getting confused by this.
