OK, so I had imported a character with hair I made in Blender to Unreal and everything was working relatively fine. Been working on this project since late 2022 so I started it up in UE 5.1. I saw 5.3 come out so I downloaded it and tried importing the project to it. I open it up in 5.3 and wow, tons of things were out of place. Particle materials weren’t showing up, had to re-enable all kinds of post effects, my character’s hair color changed, etc.
At the end of the day, I decided to finish it in 5.1 since it was going well… but after the attempted export, something happened to my original 5.1 project file. The groom materials for my character’s hair simply don’t work anymore. The color of the hair changed from a silvery white, to a dark-ish dirty blonde, and no matter how many times I switch materials, the color just won’t change back. Is it some kind of backwards compatibility issue? Is there some way to reset the material parameters?
