doesn’t work, had no integration with enhanced input, works fine as its own project, but the second i migrated it to my project. completely fails.
sent this to epic support because im getting fed up of this now.
Over the past year, I’ve invested thousands of pounds into Unreal Marketplace plugins and systems that claim compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6. But many of them simply don’t work with Enhanced Input, Unreal’s own default input system. There’s no Mapping Context, no subsystem integration, no Blueprint wiring—just broken controls and silence.
I live with ADHD and long-term health challenges, and this kind of technical friction isn’t just frustrating—it’s overwhelming. Every time I buy a plugin that doesn’t support Enhanced Input, I’m forced to reverse-engineer someone else’s work just to get basic functionality. It’s exhausting. It’s defeating. And it’s happening far too often.
Most recently, I purchased the War Ship System for £66, released on 1st October 2025. It claims compatibility with UE 5.6, but it has no Enhanced Input support at all. No control mapping. No integration. Nothing. And it’s not the only one.
I’m asking Epic to please:
• Enforce Enhanced Input support for all Marketplace assets claiming UE5.5+ compatibility.
• Require clear documentation and working examples for input setup.
• Offer refunds or remediation for assets that misrepresent compatibility.
Unreal Engine is free. These plugins are not. And when sellers profit from systems that don’t meet the engine’s standards, it’s the users—especially those of us with cognitive and health challenges—who pay the price.
I’m not angry. I’m tired. I love Unreal. I want to keep building. But I need Epic to help make this ecosystem safer, clearer, and more accountable.
Thank you for listening.
