For some reason when I set character movement ground friction to zero in my blueprint it is still applied to my character using the first person template. i.e. if I strafe left and let go of strafe key I do not continue ‘sliding’ in this direction, I come to immediate stop due to friction. Is anyone aware if there is some friction applied to the character outside of the ground friction setting under the character movement component?
Well this was silly…I just realized that this behavior is due to another setting “braking deceleration while walking”. After changing this to zero I get the expected behavior of sliding around. I guess I won’t delete this thread in case anyone runs into it later and has the same brain fart
