Grooms Strands and Cards

Hi there, in my project I found out that by enabling this CVar
r.HairStrands.UseCardsInsteadOfStrands 1
my performance is enhanced drastically.
Now two problems; how can I setup my grooms so that it uses the built in/generated card meshes?
How can I enable/disable the strands/cards for each groom other than using the LODSync Component of the meta humans as the performance seems to be generally the same.
