Groom Hair cost a lot

I have imported an alembic hair with the groom importer in 4.26. As soon as I focus on the hair my FPS goes down to 10FPS and 100ms. Are there some tips how to reduce the costs significant without loosing to much quality ? Thanks

first would be to set up LOD’s on the hair. You can reduce the resolution of the hair being generated, then switch to cards.
