groom asset not attaching to a skeletal mesh

Hello,
I’ve been learning UE5 from some time and I’ve recently started on groom hair to use on a character I created (genesis 8 female imported from DAZ without problems)
The hair asset is also a DAZ asset, exported to blender, converted to strand-based hair and imported in UE5 in alembic format.
The import worked without problems and the hair asset looks pretty good (first pic attached)
I have a problem when i try to attach it to my character.

  • I attached a socket to the skeleton’s head
  • I created a character blueprint, added the groom parameter to the skeletal mesh, and then comes the problem.
As you can see on the second pic, the hair asset is completely out of position and doesn’t click in place.
Since I’m pretty new to blueprints, there must be something I’m doing wrong, or maybe my Alembic import parameters are wrong ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Hello everyone,
First problem solved as you can see on the enclosed pic. Groom asset corectly attached to the skeletal mesh.
And of course another one shows up…It’s probably very simple but I can’t seem to figure it out. How do you make the changes appear in the main viewport where you’re setting up your scene ?

Thanks a lot for your help

How did you fix your first problem?
