Great software but many problems :)

Hello,

I’m a new user of RC, and not a perfect english reader

I have a dataset with 800 uav images and 100 terrestrial images , with calibrated cameras (sony A7R and canon 5DMII, with fix focal). I’m a photogrammetric user, i have heavy tested photoscan, pix4d and acute3d.

RC seems to be a great software, very fast, but i have somes problems and questions :

  • Is it possible to import data from photoscan or other photogrammtry software ? (like in format XYZ/omega/phi/kappa). I managed to import XYZ, but not the angles in OPK format.
  • Is it possible to import our owns calibrated cameras
  • For import GCP : no problems, 162 GCPs very accurate (2cm)

After my first alignement, i have 13 components. A principal component with 770 images, and 12 little components between 2 and 8 images

I have pointed some GCPs on the main component and re-align all the project. I don’t see the GCPs that are not pointed on images, like in Photoscan or pix4d. It will be more easier to point the GCPs if there positions are previewed in 2D view of images.

Another, problem, i managed to decrease to 9 components, but it dosen’t want to group others with the main component, even if i pointed many connection points.

A last question : what’s the estimated price of the software ? I don’t want to spend many days to test a software if his price is not affordable… like photoscan and pix4d.

Thanks in advance for your answers, and for your great job !

Best regards.

Hi Rivet

What settings you used fro alignment ? default of have changed them ?
use direct RAWs or develop them to JPG-TIFs, what sw you use for the conversions ?

There is no need to import custom calibrations in most cases.
Its possible to get the dataset so can take a look on them or its better with remote assistance ? So can take a look and give some guidance ?

Hi,

For alignment, i used default settings, with JPG images (JPG full resolution directly from the camera Sont A7R, no sw for conversions)

The dataset is very big (>3Go), so you can take a look on our project with remote assistance (like teamviewer).

Thanks.

Regards
