Grass tutorial - distance culling - no effect

Following this tutorial.

Regardless of the distance culling settings for the grass, I either see it at a limited distance, or (at 0) it disappears.

How does this setting actually work? The distances don’t seem to have any effect other than turning the grass mesh on or off…

To enable to grass to fade out, you need to include a PerInstanceFade amount node in the shader.

Can you take a screenshot from your grass setting?
