Grass Node not spawning grass on selected landscape layer

This is driving me insane. By all accounts, this should work, but it just isn’t.

Yes, I have multiple layers and am using distance blend, etc, but that shouldn’t matter for spawning grass, should it?

Per your material,
Whatever is painted with ForestFloor should receive the grass - without any modifications microtexturing etc.

Setup wise, your instancing is a mess. Fix it/revise it.
Could be the issue if your camera is further than the cull distance.

Another option vould simply be the grass mesh LOD settings or lackthereof.
Or the material of the grass if it does special things like move the grass under the labdscape based on distance.

A little blunt, but I won’t take it personally. LOL

How do you mean? To which instancing are you referring? Show me how it’s “a mess”?

Hi,
Did you try building grass maps? From the top bar go to Build > Build Grass Maps Only.

Start/ end cull distance, Scale, rotations, shadow casting (on grass suicide is a better option :stuck_out_tongue: ). Etc.

Was meant practically, not as an inuslt or anything of the sort.

For things to work, the parameters have to make sense.
