Graphic card driver crashes when I run either Epic Games Launcher or Unreal Engine

Hello guys. I’d like to thank you for the great engine and possibilities that it gives to developers.

My issue is that I used to run Unreal Engine 4.7-4.9 on my Lenovo Y50-70 and it was OK. Nothing that I’ve done with my computer, but downloaded version 4.10. After installation I cannot run eather game luncher or any of the engines (4.9, 4.10). When I run game launcher, here what it reports:

Simultaneously with report it crashes my graphics card driver. Here what pops out to my screen at that moment:

Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered

I have already tried to uninstall graphics card drivers and did reinstall both old ones and new ones. It didn’t really help.

Please help me to solve the problem: I got half designed game which I simply cannot carry on because I simply cannot run the engine.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Rainam,

Do you have Intel integrated graphics and only use the 860M as a discreet GPU? If so, it is possible that the editor isn’t switching properly to your Nvidia GPU upon launching the launcher/editor.

The crash is pointing to the fact that the graphics card itself crashed as it is saying that the display adapter in use has been removed.

Have you attempted reinstalling the launcher as of yet? If you do, as this may of been brought on by a launcher update rather than the engine being updated, please try launching the launcher in offline mode (Easiest way would be to disconnect your internet) so that it doesn’t update immediately. That way you can see if the update is what is causing this problem.

We haven’t heard from you in a while, Rainam. Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, please let me know about the information I asked about in my previous comment. In the meantime, I’ll be marking this as resolved for tracking purposes.
