i would like to increase the intensity of my directional light (set to movable) over time. I found examples of how to change the intensity of a light from one value to another, but there is no gradual increase.

Use a timeline to create the curve you want your intensity to go by, then use a lerp node to increase the intensity from your start point to the highest point you want to hit.
