Hello, just starting out with unreal, eventually for (realtime) VFX rendering purposes, very exited!
I’m experienced with 3d software like blender and houdini, and there is one thing that is very specific to blender, and that is moving/grabbing/rotating objects with first one press of a button, and then moving the mouse, which eliminates the need to hover the mouse to the gizmo, and holding down the mouse. (you can lock axis’ however you want with another shortcut) This behaviour is incredibly satisfying, makes moving things around in your scene/map much faster, gives you more options, and can even help prevent forms of RSI when doing alot of moving around. Guess i’m kind of positive about this feature.
Anyway, i think my question is; is there a way to mimick this behaviour in unreal 5? if not, there should be!
While holding control, you can now press Left Mouse Button / Right Mouse Button / Both Mouse Buttons to Translate in the 3 respective axes. (This also works with Rotate/Scale → Use W/E/R keys to easily switch between gizmos)
Ah, a little different, kinda prefer the “blender” way, but still neat!, thanks.
By the way, the scale doesn’t work on separate axes this way, is that right?
Ah, you’re right about that shortcut not working for individual scale axes. (I usually only use this shortcut for transform when the widget for my selected object is off the screen)
