GPU usage not displayed correct in Unreal Editor nor shipping builds under windows task manager processes

Hi. I’m working off the following:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600

  • Geforce RTX 2060

  • UE 5.3.2

  • Windows 10

I’ve noticed that while working in editor and shipping builds, that the reported GPU usage isn’t being reported correctly by the windows manager. The builds and editor are all running really smoothly, but the actual GPU usage seems to be reported desktop windows manager instead of the Unreal Editor process or the build game process. I see a spike in 5 - 10 % GPU usage by the desktop windows manager, but under the main Unreal Editor/Unreal Game process I see the GPU Usage column displayed 0%

I then checked this for other example projects such as Lyra and the default third person project and the result appears to be the same. I then checked it on another windows computer just to check reproducibility and it seems to be the same thing, with the GPU usage not reported under the process itself.

It’s not a performance issue (since the game is still running smoothly), but I just wanted to ask if there was some UE specific thing I needed to understand as for why this is happening.
