On UE 5.2, as well as 5.3, the LyraStarterGame project crashes the editor right after I open it. I’m presented with a “GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed” error message and then a GPU crash dump is performed:
This does not happen on UE 5.1, nor does it happen with any other project that I’ve ever opened. My computer has a Radeon RX 6800XT, and the graphics drivers are up-to-date. Does anyone know what can be done about this? I’ve attached a copy of the project logs. LyraStarterGame.log (224.5 KB)
For anyone who stumbles across this post, another user found a workaround! Disabling ray tracing and Lumen hardware ray tracing has solved the problem for some folks, including myself.
Hopefully Epic doesn’t wait until UE 5.4 to fix this bug…if they ever fix it at all…
