GPU Bottlenecking

Hi. I’ve been using Unreal for ages and never had this problem on older intel hardware but I upgraded to a new PC and it now stutters like crazy. My GPU reports spiking to near 90%. It’s basically unusable.

My set up is AMD RYzen 7 5700 8 core. 24gb ram. AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT. Any help or advice would be awesome.

hi @electronicmoonj

Sounds odd because those specs should be ok for the editor as long as you not overloading your levels that is.

Best place to start is update ALL your drivers, like motherboard, GPU, AMD chipset drivers, audio, the lot

Even a rogue USB driver can cause instabilities at times

See how you get on

That’s a good shout. I’ll try doing that and hope for the best. Even on a blank level it’s dodgy.

So my drivers were up to date. I updated the AMD software. Turned off a bunch of options when it’s running unreal as AMD had like vsync and scaling options. So far working better. Will see.

fingers crossed, i tend to keep options left to application rather than inside the drivers.
