Hello, I have been removed from Epic Games team Developers from GitHub, which caused my UE4 fork to get destroyed. The e-mail did not include any more information.
Does anyone know how this could be happening? Could it be because my UE4 fork was private?
Over the course of just 1 minute, I have received 5 emails.
- Regarding my private fork getting deleted. (same message twice)
- Regarding GitHub Epic Games account telling me I’ve been removed from Epic Games team Developers. (same message twice)
- Regarding being added to Epic Games team Developers. (even though I was already in that team, I mean I was already able to access the GitHub repository)
In that order.
Hi Rohan.
A few hours ago our development team fixed an issue that was preventing new users from accessing the Unreal repo on Github. More information available here - https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/1045645/linking-to-github-account-is-successful-but-does-n.html
I cannot confirm currently whether the fix and your issue are related, but the timing is interesting. When did you originally prepare your account and join the repo, and create your UE4 fork?
Thanks
Some time between 10:00:00 and 16:00:00 on August 18 Indian Standard Time: During this timeframe, I connected my GitHub account to my Epic Games account for the source license. I downloaded UE4 once from Epic Games Launcher to “become an Unreal subscriber” and receive the mail asking me to join @EpicGames organization on GitHub. I did so.
Some time between 10:00:00 and 16:00:00 on August 20 Indian Standard Time: During this time, I noticed this issue of my account having been removed from the Epic Games team Developers (just the team, I was still a member of the organization). The emails were timed 9:31 IST on August 20.
I have disconnected my account and reconnected it on the same day, and created a new fork. Thankfully we had other backups so this wasn’t a problem.
I don’t think the issue has much to do with the link you have provided however.
